About the Role

We’re looking for a dynamic, strategic Director of Sales to lead retail growth for a portfolio of vendor partners—primarily with Target, with expansion into other key retailers. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on ownership, excels at building buyer trust, and can translate retail data into strategy that drives results.

You’ll be responsible for owning key buyer relationships, overseeing line reviews and promotional planning, and driving new product placement and velocity at scale. As a senior leader on our team, you’ll play a key role in growing our book of business and helping expand our agency’s reach into new categories and retailers.

What You’ll Do

Target Account Leadership

  • Own and grow buyer relationships across multiple categories at Target

  • Lead line reviews, promotional planning, and new item set-ups

  • Translate vendor goals into compelling, data-driven strategies tailored to Target’s objectives

  • Collaborate with vendor partners and internal teams to prepare and deliver strong meeting materials

Retailer & Channel Expansion

  • Lead sales strategy for expanded partnerships with top national retailers in addition to Target

  • Identify new retail opportunities that align with the agency’s strengths

  • Drive vendor placement at new retailers

Vendor Management & Revenue Growth

  • Own a portfolio of vendor relationships with accountability for sales growth and performance

  • Build strategic business plans that increase placement, distribution, and sell-through

  • Maintain an active pipeline of prospective vendors and support new business efforts

Internal Collaboration & Execution

  • Partner with internal teams to ensure retail execution is timely and effective

  • Turn retail data and vendor insights into actionable plans across departments

  • Bring a solution-oriented mindset to managing internal priorities and cross-functional collaboration

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years in retail sales, brand management, or account management. Specifically, must have strong experience selling into Target. Preference is given to candidates who also have experience and relationships with other major mass retailers.

  • Strong, proven buyer relationships and the ability to build trust quickly

  • Track record of driving measurable sales growth for multiple brands

  • Comfort navigating retail data platforms (e.g., POL) and turning insights into action

  • High-level communication skills: written, verbal, and visual (presentation)

  • Highly proactive, accountable, and energized by owning outcomes

  • Comfortable with light to moderate travel (20%) to retailer meetings, vendor summits, and industry events
